Auditions (Calgary): Psalms For Springs – Ambrose Arts

 

Ambrose Arts is casting for its spring fusion show Psalms for Spring. The show is an interdisciplinary work featuring acting, dance, live orchestra, and choir, and is anchored in a presentation of Leonard Berstein’s Chichester Psalms. The performance takes place on Friday, April 17th, and explores the themes of orientation, disorientation, and re-orientation.

Currently casting for:
KAYA: South African teenager, 14-18. Female. Kaya is precocious, adventurous, and not afraid to pursue her passions or express her deepest griefs. Kaya narrates the performance through a series of three short monologues detailing her pursuit of becoming a pilot and navigating a devastating tragedy. Movement or dance experience a plus. Performer may be integrated into choreography depending on performer’s experience and rehearsal availability.

Specific rehearsal schedule will be determined with the performer. Small honorarium provided.

Auditions take place at Ambrose University on Saturday, Feb. 22 and 23 (callbacks). Auditionees will be provided with sides to prepare in advance of the audition.
