The Canada Council for the Arts is honoured to salute the work and vision of performing artist Chris Dodd, who contributes to positive change in society by shining a light on the practice of Deaf artists.

Based in Edmonton, Alberta, Chris Dodd is the founder and artistic director of SOUND OFF, a theatre festival devoted to the performing arts for the Deaf. The Canada Council is delighted to award him the Guy Laliberté Prize ($20,000), which was created after Mr. Laliberté personally donated the money to highlight the creative and innovative leadership of a Canadian artist.

Chris Dodd will officially receive the prize in February 2020, as part of SOUND OFF Festival events happening in Edmonton.

Join us in congratulating him for his hard work and award!
