Audition (Calgary): Jawbone – University of Calgary in Production with Downstage Theatre

Jawbone

A play by Meghan Greeley

University of Calgary MFA Candidate Brittany Pack’s Thesis Production produced with the generous support of Downstage as part of the ShakeUp Festival.

About the Play

After isolating herself in a remote cabin, a young woman hides from her past transgressions as she films an application video to live on Mars, the ultimate penal colony. This darkly comedic one-woman show examines tangible guilt as the woman explores what happened with her roommate, her sexuality, and shame.

This show deals with queer, sexual, and sensitive themes/topics.

Roles

A Young Woman (~20-30): This one-woman show centres around an unnamed main character. She jumps back in forth in time examining her past and how it lead to her present and desired future. She is charming and funny, but with a sharp edge.
