The Lieutenant Governor of Alberta Arts Awards Foundation competition for its $10,000 2020 Emerging Artist Awards is now open to February 23, 2020.
Up to 10 artists will receive the cash award and medal to be presented by the Foundation’s patron, Her Honour, the Honourable Lois Mitchell, CM, AOE, Lieutenant Governor of Alberta, at a ceremony in Edmonton June 4, 2020.
Artists from all disciplines including performing, visual, design and literary arts are eligible to apply. Emerging artists are considered those of any age who have completed their training or apprenticeship and are in the early stages of their professional arts career. An adjudication panel convened by The Banff Centre will select recipients.
The competition deadline is midnight, February 23, 2020. Artists can find full competition details and apply online at www.artsawards.ca.
