What’s On (Calgary): Human Herding – A Community Movement Exploration

Calgary’s Ghost River Theatre and Downstage Theatre are jamming with UK-based Bucket Club theatre company on a new project around the theme of extinction. On November 4th and 5th, from 1:00 PM until 4:00 PM, we invite the Calgary community to come out to West Village Theatre to join us in this exploration. On these afternoons, the artistic companies are excited to explore herd/flock movement. Participants will be led through an adaptable series of movement activities to see how a large and varied group of humans move through space together. Participants of all ages, movement abilities, trained or untrained, are invited to join this experiment. The artists are keen to have the most varied group of participants possible to accurately and artistically reflect our species.

This is a free community activity. Please wear comfy clothes for moving around and bring indoor/movement friendly footwear. A water bottle is strongly recommended. You are welcome to join us for both afternoons, as each day will be a little different.

The artists are eager to work with a large group of participants: so bring your friends, children, family members, and colleagues out for an afternoon of artistic movement exploration.
