What’s On (Calgary): The Bench & FOUR

Long Grass Studio and Workshop is returning to Calgary with their latest puppet tale. This delightfully entertaining thirty-minute play allows you to smile and reflect on life emulated entirely through puppetry. If you frequently find yourself sitting in a show and asking BUT WHERE ARE ALL THE PUPPETS? Then this is the show for you.

The Bench made its debut at the 2018 OUF! Puppet Festival in Montreal demonstrating that little shows can make a big impact. The play was transported in three suitcases and featured a Puppet Per Minute (PPM). We timed it, proved it and coined the phrase. They next presented it to a sold out audience at the 2019 International Festival of Animated Objects. Juanita and Monica are excited to tour their humble show while spreading the word that PPM is a real thing and also support the wonderful charity Inn from the Cold!

Jupiter Theatre will be presenting original new work called ‘FOUR

“Pestilence. War. Famine. Death. FOUR is a work-in-progress devised theatre piece that blends mythology and contemporary societal issues through movement and text. The Horsemen are here and they are the harbingers of one thing: the social, and literal, apocalypse.”

When: November 1st at 7pm and November 2nd at 1pm, 3:30pm, and 7pm.
Where: cSpace 1721 29 Avenue SW, Calgary, Alberta T2T6T7
