Event (Edmonton): High Tea – An Elevated Fundraiser

Firefly Theatre & Circus

Ever wondered what a true “High” Tea would look like? Join the company of Firefly Theatre and Circus as they dangle overhead serving steeps, champagne and sweets! An afternoon of multi-sensory delights, HIGH TEA guests will sip quality teas from Acquired Tastes Tea Co. and nibble on sweets from SUGARED AND SPICED — all while being entertained by Firefly’s talented servers as they dangle from the rafters.

Guests can look forward to champagne-service from chandelier acrobats, flying Butlers serving traditional cucumber sandwiches, as well as special tea-leaf readings with the hilarious Spirit Sister of the Flying Séance, (and DieNasty cast member) Stephanie Wolfe. Edmonton Circus Artists Sheri Woo & Samara Sedmak (Silks Loop) and Sandra Olarte (aerial silks) will be featured, along with Firefly aerialists Michalene Giesbrecht, Kelly Proudfoot, Tanya Herbert, Erin Dewar, Tara Bergen, Carolyn Smith, Jason Adams and Vitaly Motuz. HIGH TEA is a fundraiser for Firefly’s world premiere of INFERNO, and our guests will see a dramatic scene from the show courtesy of cast members Belinda Cornish and John Ullyatt. HIGH TEA will be hosted by Firefly’s Artistic Director, Annie Dugan.

HIGH TEA happens at ATB Financial Arts Barns (10330 84 Ave.) on Sunday, October 6th from 2-4PM. Tickets are $50.00, available at Tix on the Square, or by calling Firefly at 780.758.9999. This event is sponsored by Fringe Theatre Adventures, Acquired Tastes Tea Co., and Sugared and Spiced. Proceeds from this year’s HIGH TEA go toward Firefly’s world premiere of INFERNO.
