Shakespeare Scene Study with Iam Coulter*
Dive into Shakespeare scene work and explore what it takes to bring Shakespeare’s most iconic scenes and characters to life. Over a period of 8 weeks participants will examine selected texts through folio text work, embodying rhetorical devises, personal connection and a variety of rehearsal techniques.
Reinvigorate your technique, your performance and your passion while bringing some of Shakespeare’s greatest moments to life.
***I have some exciting new methods that I’m looking forward to applying to this fall/winter session of Shakespeare scene study! We will be examining new scenes every week so students will personally explore even more material and will work in multiple partnerships!

INSTRUCTOR:
*Iam Coulter is an actor, director, and teaching artist. She is the creative director of Iam Shakespeare and is the Head Speaker Coach for TEDx YYC 2020. From 2004 – 2011, she served as the artistic producer of The Shakespeare Company in Calgary, Alberta. Her appetite for deeper understanding and specialized training experience led her to Lenox, Massachusetts’ Shakespeare & Company in 2012, where she trains with internationally renowned master teachers. Iam has continued her studies with those masters, absorbing all she can while developing her own personal teaching style. She recently assisted faculty as a teacher trainee at the January 2018 Month Long Intensive, with a focus on Text and Clown. Iam has performed with Shakespeare & Company, Citadel Theatre, Theatre Calgary, Vertigo Mystery Theatre, Alberta Theatre Projects, Theatre Junction and The Shakespeare Company.
