Class (Calgary): The Art of Clowning for Teens ages 13-17

 

Join Theatre A Go-Go this THURSDAY and discover the freedom that comes from a state of total, unconditional acceptance of your most authentic self. Open the door to joy and your Clown Character; that is waiting for you to recognize them so that they can come out and play.

Register with a friend or other family member by Wednesday Sept. 26 and receive a 10% discount for each registration.

NEW THURSDAY EVENING CLOWN CLASSES

WHO: Ages 13-17
WHAT: THE ART OF CLOWNING – Imagine the world of your Clown who believes they can do anything and have a limitless desire and curiosity to try new things. These Characters are curious, playful, or creative, and are always in a state of wonder or awe, surprise or amazement. In a supportive atmosphere, you will explore the clown’s world and discover a unique and personal way of bringing your clown to life. Players will work individually and in groups and through; Slapstick, status play, improvisation, parody, and personal creativity, will be encouraged to rediscover what makes us laugh and why. The emphasis of these classes will be on having fun, creating your clown Character and working with a partner to create a Scenario.
WHEN: Thursdays, 6:00-8:30pm from Sept. 26 – Dec. 5, 2019 (From 5-9pm on Dec. 5)
INVESTMENT: $300/player
Investment includes: 11 classes x 2 1/2 hours/class plus 1 1/2 hours for dress rehearsal and performance at the end of the program = 29 hours. (Clown noses, some costumes, and props supplied by Theatre A Go-Go)
WHERE: At the Parkdale Community Centre
