Auditions (Edmonton): Youth, Teens, and Adults – Welcome to Broadway – Broadway Bound

In addition to 2 major shows each season Broadway Bound Performing Arts has developed Welcome to Broadway – a cabaret style Broadway Musical Revue show that is presented in smaller venues – 45 minutes to 1 1/2 hours in duration. The revue show highlights a number of selections from various Broadway Musicals with both soloists and ensemble cast members.

We are looking to expand the Welcome to Broadway cast to include youth, teen and adult singers/actors and or dancers.

We require a commitment of at least 6 months – the majority of shows will likely to booked evenings and/or weekends. There is also a production fee for each cast member of $50 to help cover costs of rental equipment and costuming.

Auditions will take place at the Ruth Carse Centre, 11205 107 Avenue, Edmonton (downtown with free parking) on Saturday 24 August and Friday 6 September. Apply for your audition spot by email to broadwayboundco@gmail.com. Auditions will take place at the same time as for the major show The Wizard of Oz – if you are auditioning for “Wizard” note in your email that you are auditioning for both Wizard of Oz and Welcome to Broadway.

Preparation:

  • Song from a musical (bring piano sheet music for Musical Director accompanist)
  • Monologue (maximum 1.5 minutes to highlight acting ability)
  • Dancers prepare a solo of any genre (provide own music)

Rehearsals: Location, Ruth Carse Centre, 11205 107 Avenue, Edmonton – Sundays approximately 5 – 6.30 pm. Rehearsals will not be held every Sunday – a schedule will be issued and rehearsals are likely to commence in mid to late September.
