REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS // ACCESSIBILITY CONSULTATION FACILITATOR
POSITION SUMMARY
Identify and survey a cross section of individuals and organizations who experience accessibility issues in participating with the performing arts in Edmonton. Research best practices for addressing these issues and compile a final report summarizing the findings, including recommendations and an action plan for consideration.
The position will run from September 15, 2019 to January 31, 2020.
Facilitator Fee is $8,000
This Request for Proposals is open to individuals, collaborators, or companies that are based in Edmonton and that are familiar with the Edmonton community. We are open to managing various contracts that collectively achieve our key goals and outcomes. Applicants should provide detailed information about any intentions or requirements to subcontract.
ANTICIPATED SELECTIONS SCHEDULE & TIMELINE
June 30, 2019 – Request for Proposals made public;
July 31, 2019 – Request for Proposals closes;
August 6 – 9, 2019 – Contact made with shortlisted candidates for interview;
August 20 – 23, 2019 – Interviews (ASL Interpretation Available);
August 30, 2019 – Successful bidder contacted;
September 15, 2019 – Project begins;
January 31, 2020 – Project ends.
ELEMENTS OF PROPOSAL
A submission must, at a minimum, include the following elements:
- A one-page cover letter that briefly outlines the bidder’s interest in taking on this project.
- A two-page (maximum) narrative outlining the bidder’s strengths and distinguishing skills or capabilities as they relate to this project. Examples of past research or facilitation work may be shared by including hyperlinks to documents hosted via website, Dropbox, or Google Drive.
- A three-page (maximum) description of how the bidder would undertake to fulfill the Key Goals and Key Outcomes of this project in keeping with the Guiding Principles as listed. This should include a detailed action plan and timeline, possible subcontractors (if applicable), and indications of what forms of quantitative and qualitative data will be sourced.

This RFP will be distributed freely, and is also posted on the Theatre Alberta website as a PDF (https://www.theatrealberta.com/yegaccessibilitygroup/).
