ABOUT THE PLAY:
A mythical parable, a story of the power of women and a heartfelt love letter to Rodeo Life. This world premiere play tells the story of one young Cowgirl’s journey to compete in the Calgary Stampede. Chatterton’s newest play Cowgirl Up is a magical, irreverent new work that approaches rodeo culture from a whole new perspective, examining the unique challenges faced by women.

ROLE:
STARBRIGHT: Female: (20-40) Barrel racing horse, has a very heightened way of speaking, almost beat poetry. Must be comfortable with speaking poetic text. Speaks with horse inflections.

NOTE: Actors applying for this role should be in strong physical condition and be excellent movers. Please indicate if you have dance, circus, gymnastics or any other physical training on your submission. A background in contemporary dance and strong improvisation skills would be an asset.
