This workshop is for everyone who wishes to improve their voice, acting, stage presence, confidence, and acting skills.
Join David Wilson for a fun and deeply informative afternoon on vocal resonance, range, safety, strength confidence and ease. We will re-establish healthier and more natural patterns of moving and breathing; this improves the way our voice functions. By reducing muscle tension, strengthening the core while increasing flow, we can find a bigger, better voice than you ever thought possible.
If you have ever had any doubts about your ability to speak in public, sing high notes, or questions about performance success, support for the voice, asthma, anxiety or the respiratory system, this is the masterclass for you.
We will make use of restorative yoga, breath therapy, vocal pedagogy, movement re-education, vocal entrainment and core strengthening principles.
Please wear comfortable, loose clothing, bring a yoga mat and water.
David Wilson (BMus, MMus) is a Singer, Conductor, Voice Teacher, Yoga Instructor/Teacher Trainer, Breath Therapist and creator of The Wilson Method. He offers workshops to teachers, therapists, singers, actors, teachers, dancers and professionals on vocal fitness, creative freedom, anxiety relief, respiratory health, core stability, movement re-education and physical, mental and emotional well-being. He is the founder of the award-winner Spiritus Chamber Choir, and conducted the Calgary Renaissance Singers & Players for ten years. David currently holds positions with Edmonton Musical Theatre, the University of Alberta, Cowtown Opera Summer Academy and the Theatre Arts program at MacEwan University. His DVD/Book, The Wilson Method for Voice will be released in 2019.
