We are excited to announce that Visionary Centre for the Performing Arts has been licensed by Alberta Advanced Education Private Career Colleges for a non-academic, post-secondary program in Acting and Musical Theatre. This is the only performing arts program that is licensed by Alberta Advanced Education Private Career Colleges.
The Acting and Musical Theatre Intensive, is a non-academic one year program designed for individuals who wish to pursue careers in the performing arts who fall into any of the following categories;
- Have already had extensive performing arts training in high school or privately and want to focus a year on preparing to audition for professional productions.
- Have applied to universities, were told they needed more experience or training and to reapply the following year.
- Are currently working in the industry and want to improve their skills in a non-academic environment.
The program is built around six modules which include; Acting, Dance & Movement, Voice & Speech, Performance, Professional Preparation, and Teaching. Our faculty members are experienced professional actors, directors, choreographers, and musicians with years of experience and industry ties in the film and theatre world. Our goal is to train individuals to compete in the growing film and theatre industry in Alberta.
