ThunderCATS is a new musical being developed for the 2019 Fringe Festival. You may ask “What is ThunderCATS about?”. Well, it’s about ThunderCATS. Based on the lost peoms of T.S.Smelliot and the characters of the 80’s Cartoon of the same name, ThunderCATS is exactly what it says it is. (It’s a parody of one of the worst musicals of all time). Singing, dancing, leotards and literally no storyline.

Grindstone is an improv based theatre company.
Past mainstage productions include the award winning improvised musical The 11 O’clock Number, Urinetown The Musical, The Adventures of Chucky and Reggie, Blackout Sketch Comedy, Here Lies Henry, The Complete Works of Shakespeare Abridged, HONK! The Ugly Duckling Musical, and Shakespeare’s Henry V.

Lion-o – (Mr. Mistopholies) The prince of the thunder cats. A child in a man cats body. Must learn about teamwork and friendship.
Cheetara (Jemima/Grizabella) Cheetara is a female warrior, ThunderCat constantly coming to the rescue of her friends. Her most notable physical ability is her incredible speed, which she uses in combat to evade and dodge attacks with ease.
Panthro – the engineer, war tank cat. Good with making weapons, very buff.
Tygra (rum tug tugger) Along with the ability to turn invisible, he is armed with a large bolo whip. A sexy noble cat. 20-40
Pumyra (Demeter) is a young female Thunderian. This young woman, based on the puma, is a talented healer and medic. Her compassionate nature lends to offering an alternative perspective, solving problems or conflict without fighting by using compromise and understanding.
Wilykit (Rummpleteaser) is a very adventurous young lady, she spends most of her time with her brother Wilykat. The pair of young thunderians are playful and active.
Wilykat (mungojerry) is the brother of WilyKit and the older of the two ThunderKittens.
Snarf Osbert (or just “Snarf”) is of the Snarf species. Snarf complains about how he is ignored by the others, as well as having nothing important to do now that the young lord Lion-O has grown into an adult.

All roles will include dancing and group movement. Improv and Sketch performers are encouraged to apply.
