MAA & PAA Theatre produces vibrant new plays that take a fresh look at the overlooked heroes and dusty corners of Alberta history.
In 2019, we are working with author Bashir Mohammed on a new play, Balancing Point, that combines an examination of the experience of first-generation arrivals to Alberta with the story of Charles Daniel, who launched the very first civil rights case in Alberta history, back in 1914.
The production will be directed by Mukonzi Musyogi, and will be in fairly regular rehearsals in the weeks leading up to the Fringe (exact schedule TBC), and then be staged at the Strathcona Library BYOV.
We are seeking a stage manager for the production who can coordinate blocking rehearsals and call the show. There would be a guaranteed honorarium, and the artist would receive a share of ticket sales as well. Interested candidates can contact producer David Cheoros at cheoros@hotmail.com or 780.668.2440.
