In the last couple of years, Green Fools has had over 10,000 kids and youth participate in our programming! Our work in remote communities, with inner city youth, newly arrived refugees, indigenous families, and kids at risk has demonstrated that the simple belief in young people gives them the motivation to believe in themselves. Youth deserve to be inspired, encouraged, and given the opportunity to succeed. Social Circus Camps and Green Fools programming is an excellent way of supporting their growth!

This year The Green Fools are setting up in a new space that will be home to Calgary’s dedicated Circus School! The number of children at risk, in Calgary alone, is staggering and we want to help as many of them as possible:

  • Over 300 youth experiencing homelessness on any given night
  • ~8,000 Indigenous children/youth age 5-19
  • ~37,000 children/youth ages 5-19 with a mental health disorder
  • ~40,000 children living in low-income households
  • Over 75,000 immigrants ages 5-19
  • Over 80,000 visual minorities ages 5-19

Because so much of the social outreach that we do relies on funding, we’ve launched a 100 FOR 100 fundraising campaign in hopes of getting 100 people, groups, or companies to donate $100 dollars each through the Shaw Birdies for Kids platform; which matches all gifts by 50%! Of course EVERY bit helps so smaller donations are, of course, equally appreciated. The deadline to donate is August 31, 2019.
