Workshop (Calgary): Puppet Pop-Up: Box Puppets! – For Ages 5+

What can you do with a box? Turn it into a puppet- a string puppet, a rod puppet, a shadow puppet, a finger puppet! This workshop combines imagination with puppet literacy as we make a ‘boxed’ set of different styles of puppets. Bring your own boxes or use provided. Decorate into different characters, wrap the box, add ears! Add strings and turn it into a hot air balloon – add a puppet passenger. Make it a mystery shadow box containing all sorts of strange things!

Finish up with an indie video for our WPTS Youtube channel inspired by Antoinette Portis’ “Not A Box”. And everybody says the refrain “It’s NOT a box!”

Tickets in advance $10 or $35 for groups of 4-6 people; $15 at the door
 Ages 5+ (children participate with an adult)
