Tasks and Responsibilities
The Development, Diversity, and Outreach Strategist will assist in creating a sustainable infrastructure for the company that inclusively furthers its mandate, through Indigenous and other cultural outreach, board and administrative development, branding, and more. The employee will participate in the creation of a strategic plan together with the Artistic Director and board to refine the company’s vision.
Additional duties include:
- Refining the client database
- Refining the procedures for outreach to diverse communities and schools with some emphasis on outreach to Indigenous audiences
- Recruiting and training marketing personnel for September forward
- Researching funding opportunities and applying for them, particularly towards internships for youth outside the summer.
On-Site Supervision
The job position is on-site and in-office, the supervisor Artistic Director Mark Henderson is available to answer any questions as they arise. In the event that the supervisor is unavailable, he can be accessed through phone or by email. The supervisor and employee will meet every week at a minimum for the duration of employment.
Job Coaching
Jennifer Wanke will act as a mentor for this position at Theatre Prospero, as they learn valuable skills in strategic planning, administration, programming, and marketing. Through her guidance and expertise as an involved member of the company, the position holder will refine the company’s vision and create valuable change. Wanke worked as the Senior Manager of Programming and Venues for the University of Alberta Students Union and is currently the Business Manager of Theatre Prospero, our key administrative person.

Wage is $21.00 an hour.
