Stage Manager call for Inside Out Theatre’s Most Imaginary Worlds,
created by the Point of View Ensemble.
Inside Out is seeking an enthusiastic and generous Stage Manager to collaborate on a new, devised disability theatre for young audiences production, Most Imaginary Worlds created by the Point of View Ensemble.
Background:
Inside Out Theatre is a disability theatre company in Calgary. Our new work centres on our resident Point of View Ensemble, a group of eight theatre creators living with disabilities. Most Imaginary Worlds is a new theatre for young audiences play that imaginatively presents stories of hope, gems of hilarity, battles with equality, and triumphs of the human spirit.
Most Imaginary Worlds dramatizes the Social Model of Disability, which says that “disability” is caused by the way society is organized rather than by a person’s impairment or difference, and how to remove these barriers. By imagining with young collaborators worlds free of these barriers we can create on stage worlds and stories built for their happiness and designed for their success.
Most Imaginary Worlds will be presented by Quest Theatre in the CSpace King Edward Theatre in May 2019.

We recognize that the production/technical aspects of theatre are often inaccessible when considering physical access, availability of training opportunities, unhealthy time and physical demands, and so on. We are here to have good conversations about how to remove barriers and will work together to reimagine the process so that it is healthy and accessible for everyone.
Timeline:
Inside Out has worked with the ensemble to create a sustainable rehearsal schedule that promotes the health of all team members.
Creation rehearsals:
Mondays 3:30-5:30 – Currently thru April 29th
Creation Workshops:
April 6th & 7th 10:00am – 5:00pm
April 27th & 28th 10:00am – 5:00pm
May 2nd – Load in, hang, tech rehearsal
May 3rd – Daytime dress rehearsal, evening performance
May 4th – Afternoon & Evening performance
Fee:
Flat rate of $1,250.00
