PRODUCTION INFORMATION:
The Robber Bridegroom: A Grimm Fairy Tale by the Brothers Grimm, adapted by the Chimera Theatre Ensemble. Directed by Andrew G. Cooper.
An impoverished miller seeks a better life for his only daughter by arranging her marriage to a wealthy stranger. She wants to help her family, but something wicked lurks in the woods where her bridegroom lives… Chimera Theatre and Jupiter Theatre bring new life to this classic Brothers Grimm fairy tale through puppetry and physical theatre in this dark adaptation that explores intuition and the uncertain nature of humanity.
AUDITION INFORMATION:
We are looking for female-identifying performers to join our ensemble who are comfortable with movement. Experience with puppetry is preferred, but not required. We are accepting submissions from performers who are available for either Phase 1 or Phase 2 of the tour, but a strong preference will be given to those who are available for the entire contract.
To submit your interest, please email your performing resume and headshot to Andrew G. Cooper at andrew@theatrejupiter.com with the subject line “FRINGE SUBMISSION.” Please highlight any puppetry, devised theatre, and improvisation experience. Only successful applicants will be contacted with material to submit for a video audition.
If submitting a video audition is a barrier to you, please get in touch with us via email. Jupiter Theatre will consider submissions from artists of all backgrounds, regardless of race, color, gender, national origin, age, religion, creed, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression unless otherwise specifically indicated.
This audition call is for Equity and Non-Equity members. Performers will receive a guaranteed honorarium for rehearsals and a profit share for performances. CAEA members will be contracted under the Festival Policy. Travel and accommodation costs will be covered by Jupiter Theatre.
