Jupiter Theatre is now accepting submissions and proposals for its 2019/2020 season. For our second season, we are accepting scripts from Alberta-based artists. The selected script(s) will be workshopped with the company next season and considered for production next season and beyond. Jupiter Theatre is based in Calgary and is committed to producing new works of professional Canadian theatre that explore the human condition and challenge audiences with contemporary social issues.

To propose a script submission for development and production consideration, please adhere to the following guidelines:

• Jupiter Theatre will be accepting script and proposal submissions until 11:59 pm on April 30th, 2019.
• Scripts which have been produced professionally are NOT eligible (any public performance in which production members were paid beyond an honorarium will be considered a professional production).
• Scripts that have been presented at workshops, readings, or produced by community or academic groups are eligible.
• Submissions are open to plays and musicals, including works-in-progress, of any length created by permanent residents of Alberta.
• Scripts must be in English.
• Submissions must be sent as pdf. files via email with the subject line “2019/2020 SEASON SUBMISSION”.

Please send the following information:

• Background about the project’s development and/or production history to date; for works-in-progress please include what stage the project is at.
• If available, a current draft of the script.
• A character/cast breakdown.
• Bios of the playwright(s), and key creative collaborators (if applicable).
• Musical projects should also include an online source for selected songs.
