General Auditions for Malachite Theatre’s Internationally-touring 2019-2020 season to be held in Edmonton this March.

Malachite Theatre is a critically-acclaimed Shakespeare company founded in London, UK. The company produces nationally and internationally touring site-specific productions of Shakespeare’s plays, based on Elizabethan performance methodologies. General auditions are being held for the company’s 2019-2020 season, which includes performances in both the UK and Canada.

Audition Dates: March 7 & 8, 2019.
Deadline to Submit: March 1, 2019.

Only email submissions will be accepted. Please title submissions “Malachite General Auditions” and include a headshot and resumé in PDF format. Please indicate whether you have a preferred date and time for your audition. We will endeavour to be as flexible as we can with your availability requests.

Applicants will be required to prepare two contrasting classical monologues (eg. blank verse/prose or comic/tragic) lasting no longer than 2 minutes each. If you play an instrument or sing, please prepare a short piece which demonstrates your musicality, and is no longer than one minute in length.

Applicants who have previously submitted to Malachite Theatre are encouraged to resubmit for the 2019-2020 season.

CAEA members will be seen first at all open audition calls. Please bring your membership card to the audition. Malachite Theatre is committed to employing artists from all cultural and creative backgrounds.
