Education (National): School of Performing Arts in Charlettetown Holding Entrance Auditions

The Holland College School of Performing Arts (SoPA), in partnership with Confederation Centre of the Arts, is thrilled to offer aspiring performers a post-secondary, two-year diploma in one of three performance specializations: Music, Theatre, or Dance. This unique program combines the strengths and national reputations of two well-established institutions. SoPA provides students with a strong foundation in the performing arts through training in active cultural spaces, led by instructors experienced in their field of study, along with the supportive services of an accredited college for students to thrive as emerging arts professionals.

I’m proud of the unique learning opportunity we can provide to students at SoPA. It enables students to realize their potential to pursue a professional career in the performing arts through a curriculum designed to easily transition students from studio to stage, leading them to an innovative and successful life-long career path.” –  Peggy Reddin, Director of Arts Education, Confederation Centre of the Arts

Students will immerse themselves in an experiential learning program in the heart of Prince Edward Island. The Island is renowned for its lively cultural scene that includes plenty of music, theatre, and dance artists and professionals. Moreover, students will have the opportunity to train and perform on the stages and studios of Confederation Centre and Holland College’s new performance hall. Degree pathways are also available with York University, University of Limerick, and Berklee College of Music, among others. This allows students limitless opportunities to train beyond their time at SoPA.
