PLAYING WITH SHAKESPEARE CLASS FOR SENIORS

Playing with Shakespeare:  Monday Evenings from 6:00 to 7:30 pm
February 04, 11, 25 and March 04.

In Playing with Shakespeare, each class will begin with some light improvisation exercises to warm up our creativity. Then, the first class will be focused on some basic history of Shakespeare’s world and then move into an exploration of techniques to understand Shakespeare’s texts, including uncovering rhetorical intent and narrative purpose. The second, third and fourth classes examine excerpts from various Shakespearean works and will culminate in a performance of short scenes. No memorization will be required. The focus will be on exploration of the words, the story, and having fun!
