MacEwan University’s Theatre Department is seeking an artist-educator specializing in costume construction and wardrobe management to fill a full-time tenure track position at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning July 1, 2019. The successful candidate will have a diverse skill-set that draws from their area of specialization, as well as the ability to teach courses in other areas. Because the successful applicant for this position will play a key role in implementing changes to the new Theatre Production curriculum, the ability to work effectively in a student-centered, collegial environment will be an asset.

The Theatre Department is situated within the Faculty of Fine Arts and Communications of MacEwan University in Edmonton, Alberta. In September 2017, the Department moved to Allard Hall, a state-of-the-art facility as part of MacEwan University’s main campus in downtown Edmonton. MacEwan’s Theatre Production Program has been part of the city’s vibrant arts community since the early 1970s, and its two-year Diploma builds on its reputation as one of the finest post-secondary theatre production training programs in Canada.

The preferred candidate will hold a minimum of a Master’s degree in theatre or a related discipline and must have teaching experience at the post-secondary level, an extensive background in theatre production as well as experience in wardrobe management. Evidence of active research practice is an asset.
