Theatre Alberta, Alberta Playwrights’ Network, and Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity are pleased to offer this intensive workshop on new musical theatre creation as part of the Workshops by Request: Rocky Mountain Series. Instructors Bob Martin and Lisa Lambert are the creators of the award-winning musical The Drowsy Chaperone. Participants in this workshop will learn methods and practice skills for developing original musicals. Topics will include the relationship between book writer and lyricist, the importance of identifying and embracing a personal approach, and original work vs. adaptations (and the challenges each pose).
