Now in its 26th season, the Badlands Passion Play in Drumheller, Alberta, is an epic musical portrayal of the life of Jesus set on Canada’s largest outdoor theatre stage in Drumheller, Alberta, with up to 180 performers on stage. Our 35 member production team works with the volunteer and paid cast to present 9 performance each July to an aggregate audience of over 13,000. We invite you to consider joining us this coming season.

The Badlands Passion Play is looking for a Choreographer to join a Directorial team of six (Lead Director, Crowd Director, Fight Director, Music Director, Assistant Director, and Choreographer). The Choreographer will be responsible for creating, teaching, and refining all movement as is required by the Directors. This movement can range from small gestural sequences, to full dance breaks.

The Choreographer will collaborate with all members of the Directorial team, in daily meetings, to plan and accurately divide up the workload. The Choreographer will be working most closely with the Crowd Director, and in addition to the choreography, will be required to assist with general crowd movement as is needed.

The Choreographer will work with actors of all ranges, experience and ages, on all terrain and in all weather. The successful candidate will have experience as a musical theatre choreographer, will be able to read music proficiently, and is comfortable choreographing large groups of volunteer performers. Strong organizational skills, positivity, and the ability to work as a team player are all assets. Experience with volunteer actors, large casts and outdoor theatre is preferred.
