AUDITION NOTICE

We are auditioning for The Christmas Spirit. The play is a full length comedy with some nice dramatic touches written by Frederick Stroppel. The production will be a fundraiser. The performances will be on a volunteer basis.

Performance Dates

December 11 2018 to December 15 2018 at 7:30 PM and a matinee performance on December 15 at 2 PM.

Rehearsals

Rehearsals will start beginning of October 2018 two times per week and increasing as we get closer to performance dates. The dates and times will be based around actors’ availability.

Auditions

Auditions will take place Saturday September 22 2018 between noon and 5 PM , and, Sunday September 23 2018 between 1:30 pm and 4:30 pm . They will take place in the Boardroom on the second floor of the Strathcona Library, 8331 104 Street Edmonton.

Audition Requirements

Auditions will consist of a cold read and a 2 minute comedic monologue.

Auditions will be for the following roles: *

Julia Dowling – A 72 year old woman who finds out on Christmas Eve she is to be taken away to the afterlife by an unexpected visitor.
Visitor ( Jack ) – The visitor mention above, who is a bit “out of touch”, age mid 30’s.
Paul Dowling – The son of Julia, amateur songwriter, age mid 30’s.
Uncle Bernie – Brother In Law of Julia, age 50’s – 70’s.
Melissa Rosen – Latest girlfriend of Paul, amateur singer.
Matthew Harris – Recently committed suicide, still in physical form, mid 20’s.

*All of the ages mentioned above are character ages only.
