Volunteers… Share their stories – Inspire Others!
Across Alberta, ordinary people are doing extraordinary things to make our communities the kind of vibrant, welcoming places we can all take pride in.
Alberta’s volunteers come from all walks of life. They are our friends and neighbours, young people, family members, and often, people who we have never met. Within every community, every organization, they are the “go-to” people without whom the rinks and other community facilities would not be possible, the fundraisers would not happen, and the many recreational, cultural, and social programs would not be available. Now it is time for someone to remember their kindness and to recognize their selfless efforts. They have given generously of the time, talent, and energy.
Will you take the time to help us recognize their contributions to make life better for Albertans?
Nominations for the 2018 Stars of Alberta Volunteer Awards are now open and I encourage you to submit the names of those remarkable volunteers in your school, organization, and community. Awards will be presented in three categories of youth, adult, and senior in a special ceremony at Government House in Edmonton on International Volunteer Day, December 5.
Detailed information on the Stars of Alberta Volunteer Awards program can be found online at www.alberta.ca/stars-awards. The deadline for nominations is September 21, 2018.
Share the story of the “go-to” volunteer in your community and let it inspire others.
Best Regards,
Ricardo Miranda
