JOB POSTING | Theatre School Teachers and Teaching Assistants

StoryBook Theatre is currently seeking teachers and teaching assistants for our Theatre School Programming. We are looking for experienced drama teachers and professional artists to instruct children ages 6-18. Assistants will support instructors during all classes and performances/presentations.

CLASSES:

ACT UP! – Acting Fundamentals
Let’s Create a Play – Play Creation
Musical Theatre – Acting, Voice, and Dance
Winter/Spring Break Camps – Week-long Theatre Camps
PD Day Camps – Theatre Day Camps

CONTRACT HOURS:

FALL
September 22 to December 3
WINTER
January 5 to March 16
SPRING
March 24 to June 15

OPERATING HOURS:

ACT UP! & Let’s Create a Play – Saturday’s from 10:00am to 12:00pm
Musical Theatre for Teens – Sunday’s from 1:30pm to 4:30pm
Musical Theatre for Adults – Sunday’s from 6:00pm to 8:00pm
Day/Week Camps – 8:00am to 5:00pm

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS – Teachers

  • Bachelor’s degree in Drama and/or Education or equivalent professional experience
  • Minimum two years teaching or directing experience
  • Must have a passion for sharing theatre with young artists
  • Strong classroom management skills
  • High level of personal organization and planning
  • Strong Interpersonal skills
  • Must work well in a team setting
  • Knowledge of technical theatre is an asset
  • Basic first aid is an asset
  • Must be willing to submit to a criminal background check
