Workshop (Calgary): Acting with Archetypes

This workshop explores the application of Michael Chekhov’s Acting Technique to the Shakespearean monologue. Discover meaning and character intentions through a whole-bodied, psycho-physical experience of the language. We will explore many facets of the technique including psychological gestures, atmospheres and qualities of movement and witness how they intersect to produce a multi-layered performance. Suitable for actors, directors, high school teachers and anyone with an interest in performing or coaching Shakespeare.

This workshop is led by certified teacher Josephine Christensen. No prior experience of the Chekhov Technique is required.
