Class (Calgary): Intro Voice and Presence

This course is an introduction to the nature of voice production and articulation. The emphasis will be on freeing the natural voice as it pertains to performance.

It is a 12-week exploration into how to use your voice. Over the course, you will:

• Learn how and why we do certain voice exercises as well as stretches we use to open the body to supported breath and sound

• Gain a better understanding of the progression through warming up your voice

• Work practically with a variety of texts, to make the transition from the “warm-up” to application in rehearsal and performance

• Develop skills that help you use your full, natural range of expression and expand your presence to get your message across

This program is an in-depth introduction to voice-work for anyone who wants to improve his or her presentation skills. It is an ongoing exploration and deepening of voice-work that actors use, and is also accessible and open to anyone that requires extensive use of their voice on a daily basis.

Class runs Wednesday evenings – 7:00PM – 9:00PM
Sept. 5 – Nov 21, 2018 – 12 sessions

Cost: $300.00 + GST
