Auditions (Alberta): Citadel/Banff Centre Program

The Citadel/Banff Centre Professional Theatre Program, presented by the Citadel Theatre and The Banff Centre, offers an advanced creative development Program to enrich the skills of established theatre professionals. Now in its eleventh year, this Program provides a unique professional development opportunity to Canadian theatre artists.

Award-winning director Ravi Jain is the new Director of the Citadel/Banff Program and his company, internationally renowned Why Not Theatre (http://www.theatrewhynot.org/), will curate the 2018/19 program, combining national and international techniques into our teaching and training.

The Citadel/Banff Centre Professional Theatre Program is designed to embrace and enhance the artist’s strengths while encouraging the exploration of new concepts. Under the leadership of Ravi Jain, the training program has been reinvisioned to reflect the diversity and talent of Canada. The curriculum of the Program comprises a four-week course in master classes with renowned international directors, voice and movement techniques, physical theatre techniques, Shakespeare, and classes in ASL and Deaf Culture training. Please note some classes will be held in French. The residency for the program is four weeks in Banff, AB.

Following the four week training period, participants will rehearse and perform The Tempest, as part of the Citadel’s 2018/2019 Season.
