YouthWrite camps for kids who love to write… just about anything! are now accepting registrations!
YouthWrite is a non-profit multi-disciplinary Summer camp for talented youth who love to be creative. This camp offers students an opportunity to work with and learn from a wide range of extremely talented, world renowned instructors, including a number of well established authors, artists, illustrators, playwrights, and more! Our supervisors and instructors have had years of experience in their various fields and are absolutely committed to mentoring youth.
Gail Sidonie Sobat first envisioned YouthWrite in 1996 and has since run the camp for 21 years. In addition to being an author and teacher for both grade school and university level students, Gail has received multiple honours for her teaching including being a Governor-General finalist for Excellence in Teaching and being a Global News Women of Vision.
YouthWrite carries out three different camps for three different age groups. Peak One Experience caters to ages 12-14 and runs from July 1st to the 6th and Peak Two Experience caters to ages 15-19 and runs from July 8th to the 13th. Both camps are overnight programs that take place in beautiful landscape of Kamp Kiwanis and provide a unique and specialized experience for each age group.
YouthWrite also hosts a day camp at the Bennett Centre called the “River Valley Experience”. This camp caters to kids ages 8-11. The River Valley Experience begins on July 2nd and lasts till the 6th. YouthWrite also provides optional after-camp care.
