Theatre Prospero is looking for a student stage manager and a student designer for the 2018 Thousand Faces Festival taking place May 24 – June 1. The positions will begin May 7th, with 30 hours of work per week paid at a rate of $15.00 an hour.
The Thousand Faces Festival is a multidisciplinary, multicultural arts festival that aims to bring to life the mythic stories at the root of our cultures, so we may find we are all connected at the root. The festival is comprised of three different events: a program for adults, called “A String of Mythic Pearls,” which brings together several short pieces based on mythologies from around the world, a program for families, called “Mythic Family Jewels,” and a school matinee program.
The designer will primarily be designing lighting for the festival, but will also do a small amount of work with costumes and set. We’re seeking a creative, divergent thinker to transform a flexible space with light.
The stage manager will call cues for festival performances and will also be assigned to work on a particular festival piece from rehearsal to production.
As these positions are funded through the Canada Summer Jobs program, applicants must have been students during the 2017-2018 school year and intend on returning to school in the fall.
These positions are open until filled. We strongly encourage early applications. To apply, please email your resume to producer@thousandfaces.ca
