Announcement (Alberta): Community Theatre Summit FAQs

Registration is open for the Workshops by Request: Rocky Mountain Series Community Theatre Summit happening March 23-25 at Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity.  In response to inquiries about the summit we have prepared a list of frequently asked questions to help you with registration.

Q: Several people are coming on my behalf of my community theatre company. Do I need to register everyone separately?

A: Yes. Each individual participant needs to fill out Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity’s registration form in full, so they have accurate participant numbers and rooming information. You can enter the name of your group and the names of the other participants who will be joining you on the first page of the application, but the subsequent pages will just take your personal information.

Q: Can I pay my tuition and accommodation fees by cheque or do I need to pay by credit card?

A: Yes, you can pay by cheque. When you reach the final page of the registration form, there will be an option to select “Cheque, Money Order or Bank Draft.” Banff Centre will then send you an invoice.

Q: If I’m applying for a scholarship from Theatre Alberta, should I wait to register until I’ve heard whether I receive one?

A: In order to ensure yourself a spot in the workshop, you should register before you have received a decision of your scholarship application. Scholarship decisions will be just prior to the February 21 registration deadline. If you receive a scholarship, Banff Centre will be notified of the amount and deduct it from your remaining balance.

Q: Why does the registration form ask for my Alberta student number? Do I really need to supply this?

A: Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity is an accredited post-secondary institution in Alberta, and uses this number to track participation in programs, if available. If you do not know or have access to your Alberta student number, you can leave this question blank.

Q: I’ve filled out the registration form. Do I need to submit any other information?

A: Yes! Step Two of the registration process (which is linked to on the main registration page and can be found directly here requires you to fill out your emergency contact information and a brief questionnaire about your involvement with community theatre. Your registration is not considered complete until you have filled out this information.
