The 2018 IGNITE! Festival is hiring a West Village Event Coordinator through SCIP (Paid Internship)!

The 2018 IGNITE! Festival a hiring a West Village Event Coordinator through Alberta’s Serving Communities Internship Program (SCIP), which are paid internships (a $1000.00 bursary) for students attending post-secondary institutions in Alberta for the 2017-2018 year. The position is open until hired.

About the Role:

The West Village Event Coordinator will arrange the logistics of the several events/performances happening at the West Village theatre during the festival. This includes communicating with artists (share information, determine technical needs); set the schedule and with the festival curators; be the point-of-contact/relationship manager with the venue, other festival organizers; organize volunteers, and be on-site to organize and manage the events as they take place. These events are yet to be determined, but could include script readings, spoken-word/visual art presentations, cabaret style performances and more.

The IGNITE! Festival of Emerging Artists is a festival dedicated to supporting, mentoring and presenting emerging artists of all disciplines. IGNITE! allows artists to embrace risks in a supportive environment while providing resources, a bridge to the professional arts community, and meaningful opportunities for collaboration and community building with their peers. In 2017 the IGNITE! Festival featured over 300 emerging artists and 8 different series serving artists of all disciplines.
