Set at the turn of the next century, THE LISTENING ROOM takes us to the heart of a society yet-to-come: The Earie. In the middle of a post-apocalyptic desert, a group of teenage dissidents use antiquated 21st century radio telescopes to salvage fragments of earlier civilizations still ricocheting between stars, searching for connection to a past that has faded both from memory and record.
A new work by Calgary-based playwright Michaela Jeffery, recipient of an Enbridge Emerging Playwright Award, and finalist for the Playwrights Guild of Canada’s RBC Emerging Playwright Award.
