About the position:

Thou Art Here Theatre is looking for two continuing or graduating theatre students to be Performance Interns for the Freewill Shakespeare Festival. Performance interns will rehearse and perform our Shakespearean Puppet shows that are presented to the public before the mainstage performance. We are looking for performers who want to practice classical acting, puppetry, musicality, and improvisation, while learning Thou Art Here’s unique style of adapting Shakespearean text into 15-minute, accessible, and family-friendly puppet shows!

Puppet and musical instrument experience are an asset, but not essential

Applicants must be available for rehearsals in late May/early June as well as performances at the 2018 Freewill Shakespeare Festival from June 19 to July 15, 2018

NOTE: This internship conflicts with the scheduling of the Freewill Young Company position.

Audition Times:

Saturday February 3 – 12:00-4:00pm
Sunday February 4 – 12:00-4:00pm
Auditions will be scheduled in 10 minute slots
Audition Location: Strathcona High School – 10450 72 Ave NW – enter on the west side of the building (Pool doors) and follow the posted signs.

Audition Requirements:

1 contemporary monologue
1 Shakespearean monologue
Musical instrument and song (optional)

SCiP provides post-secondary students opportunities to add to their resumes, skills, and networks while also receiving a $1000 bursary
