In Memoriam: Alan Bleviss

On December 30, 2017, Alan Bleviss, graduate (Acting, 1966) and Lifetime Governor of the National Theatre School of Canada passed away at the age of 76. His whimsical voice  was the pillar on which he built his entire career. Born in Edmonton, Canada, he  became one of the most recognizable voices in the United States. He was the signature voice for innumerable corporations, and was the signature voice for the US Democratic Party. To honour his incredible contribution to NTS, the School’s library has been named after him and his family since 2008. Today, The Bleviss Family Library is the legacy of his generosity and passion for Theatre and Education.

Thank you, Alan, for your unparalleled altruism and for having dedicated your time and financial leadership to helping NTS reveal the talent of so many young theatre artists, on and behind the stage. Your voice and passion will always echo through the halls of our School and continue to inspire students to persevere and follow their dreams.
