Construction is underway in Hawrelak Park of another massive ice castle for the 2017 – 18 winter season. The acre-sized winter wonderland is crafted by hand, using only icicles and water, and resembles organic formations found in nature, like those of frozen waterfalls, glaciers or ice caves.
Edmonton’s Ice Castle will once again be built in Hawrelak Park (9330 Groat Road) in partnership with the City of Edmonton and the Silver Skate Festival. The Ice Castle is expected to be open to the public late December 2017, through March 2018, weather permitting.
We are seeking musicians and dancers to perform on various days throughout the exhibit. Musicians can include buskers, choirs, bands, and singers. Dancers can include soloists or groups. Please submit a list of your technical requirements for consideration including sound and staging.
These are non-paying opportunities, but artists are welcome to request busking fees. In return for your performance, Ice Castles will inform the media and the public regarding the date(s) and time(s) of your appearances. Ice Castles may be able to offer the following, depending on the type and frequency of performance: event notice, social media posting, promotional partners.
Submission Deadline: December 22, 2017
