What’s On (Edmonton): The Best Little Newfoundland Christmas Pageant…Ever! – Whizgiggling Productions

The Best Little Newfoundland Christmas Pageant…Ever!” is seemingly a dull task for Mrs. O’Brien, who has been put in charge when the original leader, Mrs. Armstrong, hits a moose with her car. What could be so hard? It’s always the same Mary and Joseph and the same old Christmas carols. But no one was expecting the Herdmans to show up for the auditions!!! The Herdmans are “the worst kids in the history of the entire universe” who don’t know anything about Christmas, beyond the hamper they get every year. What has the potential to be the worst pageant ever, turns out to be the best one, as everyone learns the true meaning of Christmas. Adapted from the novel, “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever” by Barbara Robinson, and set in St. John’s Newfoundland, the cast of 6 characters (and one pianist) transport the audience to another province through their beautiful music and quick witted humour.

This year the show will be produced at the Varscona Theatre, 10329 83 Ave, December 15-17 & 20-23 at 7:30 and December 16 & 23 at 2pm.
