The Lieutenant Governor of Alberta Arts Awards Foundation has launched the competition for its $10,000, 2018 Emerging Artist Awards.

Artists from all disciplines including performing, visual, design and literary arts are eligible to apply. Emerging artists are considered those of any age who have completed their training or apprenticeship and are in the early stages of their professional arts career. An adjudication panel convened by The Banff Centre will select recipients.

Up to 10 artists will receive the cash award and medal to be presented by the Foundation’s patron, Her Honour, the Honourable Lois Mitchell, CM, AOE, Lieutenant Governor of Alberta, at a ceremony in Edmonton June 1, 2018.

The competition deadline is midnight, February 9, 2018.
