Job (Calgary): Theatre Calgary – Learning and Engagement Associate

 

LEARNING & ENGAGEMENT ASSOCIATE

Theatre Calgary is looking for a new Learning and Engagement Associate to develop outreach activities, represent Theatre Calgary at various events, manage community partnerships and liaise with schools.

Your day to day responsibilities will include:

  • Using charm, charisma and your passion of Theatre Calgary to share the magic of Theatre Calgary with our community
  • Developing a fluency with the Tessitura ticket system in order to process and track purchases, ticket exchanges and ticket reprints associated with school matinees, community groups and special guests for the Learning and Engagement department
  • Being the point person for first contact from schools, educators and members of our Young Artists Workshop
  • Maintaining accurate records (tracking of events, financial tracking and statistical data)
  • Actively participate in the planning and execution of Learning and Engagement initiatives
  • Sharing updates with colleagues and team members in an open and transparent way
  • Representing Theatre Calgary at outward facing events such as tradeshows, cultural festivities and Learning and Engagement activations
  • Being responsible for our Calgary Public Library collaborations along with tcReads
  • Taking the lead on some Talkbacks, Pre-show chats and other interACTive initiatives
  • Being responsible for creating Learning and Engagement documents such as ePlay articles, Playguides, registration forms etc.
  • And of course…getting your hands dirty when it comes to show time! After all, all of us are responsible for ensuring a great show no matter how small or large the task

  • Outgoing and charismatic
  • A natural on the phone and in person
  • Passionate about connecting communities through the arts
  • Not afraid to get creative in approach when it comes representing our shows in engaging and creative ways
  • Well organized, decisive and demonstrates follow through on commitments
  • A “self-starter” who is able to work autonomously but also as a part of a team
  • Experienced working in a customer service, educational or promotional environment
    Strong public speaking skills
