DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATE, EVENTS & STEWARDSHIP

Theatre Calgary is looking for a new Development Associate to play a key role in creating and stewarding dynamic events that raise profile and revenue for Theatre Calgary.  A key focus of this role is to manage Theatre Calgary’s signature annual fundraising event. This role also involves planning and executing unique, creative and memorable donor and sponsor events at the Theatre.  

Day to day responsibilities will include:

Sponsor Fulfillment

  • Using charm, charisma and your passion of Theatre Calgary to share the magic of Theatre Calgary with our community
  • Develop relationships with sponsors, creating a unique experience for each while managing sponsorship logos, ads, promotional material and tickets
  • Update and maintain accurate database
  • Regularly communicate with the team, celebrating progress and wins 

Gala

  • Plan, organize and manage the annual gala, ensuring it operates smoothly and efficiently
  • Work alongside a committed gala committee, ensuring you establish a vision and methods to achieve the goals of the event

Theatre Calgary Representation

  • Attend opening nights and steward donors and sponsors
  • Create excitement about the Theatre by being knowledgeable about the season and the resources required to produce the season 
  • Never be afraid to get your hands dirty! Support the team as required by being creative, professional, enthusiastic and above all collaborative

Our perfect candidate:

  • Has 3-5 years of experience in non-profit fundraising
  • Previous event coordination or management required 
  • A natural people person who excels in making people feel at ease
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills 
  • Excellent written communication skills 
  • A “self-starter” who is able to work autonomously but also as a part of a team
  • Can work nights and weekends for events and opening nights
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel
  • Grant writing experience preferred
