Announcements (Calgary): New Fall Auditioning Classes for Youth With Theatre A Go-Go

Do you have a passion for Acting and you really want to pursue a career in the Theatre? Then there is no question that you will attend auditions. What better way to learn the process of auditioning than in a comfortable and fun work environment that makes you feel excited about trying new things and taking “risks” in your acting.

Join Theatre A Go-Go This Tuesday, Sept. 12 for a series of fun-filled Acting classes where players ages 11-17 will learn about the world of auditioning.

WHO: Ages 11-17 (Grades 6-12)

WHAT: THE AUDITION PROCESS – Imagine learning how to successfully enter and leave an audition room, and everything in between. This 8 week program is designed for students with some drama class experience who are looking to audition for a theatre company. These classes will focus on finding/developing a monologue as well as theatre audition skills. The three basic areas covered are:

THE CHOICE – how and where to find appropriate material that is well-suited to you, regarding your personal uniqueness and castability.

THE WORKSHOP – explore Physical Theatre techniques to effectively mount and execute the choice to best demonstrate your skills.

THE AUDITION – a practical understanding of the audition process, and mastery of the dynamics involved with presenting yourself in a theatre audition situation, including participating in mock auditions.
The goal is for students to leave the class with prepared material and the confidence to do well in their auditions!

WHEN: Tuesdays, 5:30-8:30pm from Sept. 12-Oct. 24, 2017
