Resource Development Manager
iHuman Youth Society is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mission is to serve marginalized youth to promote their reconnection to the community through a program involving crisis intervention, arts mentorship, and life skills development.
The Resource Development Manager will plan, develop and execute short and long term fundraising strategies and initiatives, working collaboratively with key stakeholders to maximize revenue generation and promote the iHuman Youth Society within the community at large. The Resource Development Manager reports directly to the Operations Director and works closely with the Executive Director. This is a newly created full-time position that is funded for one (1) year, with a possibility of renewal. Consideration may be extended to applicants who are seeking contract work that involves working less than full-time hours.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create compelling campaigns and implement best practices to maintain a strong presence in the community at large
- Lead community engagement activities with 3rd party fundraiser groups
- Steward donor relationships, solicit donations and sponsorships from a diverse base of supporters, including corporations, foundations and individuals
- Monitor expenditures and manage associated budgets
- Create a team based funding environment, working collaboratively with volunteers
- Prepare grant applications and requests for funding
- Establish measures of success and revenue targets, and prepare progress reports
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in Business or Arts Administration and Cultural Management
- At least 4 years’ experience in fundraising and development
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered
- Proven track record of increasing philanthropic revenue and implementing effective fundraising strategies
- Outstanding leadership and organizational skills, with a demonstrated ability to be adaptable and flexible
- Highly motivated self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit
- Well-honed, persuasive communication and writing skills
- Creative problem solver with well-developed analytical skills
- Tech savvy with an excellent working knowledge of fundraising using social media
- Valid Driver’s License and access to a reliable vehicle
- Working knowledge of MS Office and fundraising databases, such as Raiser’s Edge
Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week – varied schedule, includes evenings and weekends
