St. Albert Dinner Theatre is seeking a director for our November 2017 production of A View From Here by Margaret Dulaney.
Synopsis:
Set in a small town in Kentucky, The View from Here is a comedy about an agoraphobic. Fern, a woman in her mid thirties, has not left her house for six years. She takes in neighborhood babies for a living. Her nurturing talents are put to the test when her sister lands on her couch in a catatonic state and her neighbor, whose wife has just left him, moves in along with his abandoned baby. In the midst of this confusion, Fern’s fears are put to the test as well when she wins a microwave at the Super Krogers, but must appear in person to claim it. The View from Here is ultimately about healing and the pain that hope carries with it.
Production Dates:
November 9 – 25, nine shows, on Thurs/Fri/Sat of each week.
Rehearsals are typically Mon/Tues/Thurs in the evenings.
Director’s position is volunteer, but we can offer a small honoraria. There are a few other perks for production staff and actors, that will be discussed at the interview/meeting.
Interested parties can submit applications to dance-up-a-storm@hotmail.com, by August 31, so we can commence with auditions and rehearsals as soon as possible in September.
This is our seventh season! We are looking forward to starting it off with someone bright, fun, and easy-going, who can set the season off with a bang!
