The Calgary International Film Festival is a 12-day showcase of up to 200 multi-genre feature and short films from Canada and over 40 other countries. The festival hosts gala events, screenings, special presentations, and a Behind the Screen series that emphasizes unique and exciting ways for filmmakers and fans to interact.

Each year, more than 300 individuals share their time and talents with us – and this contribution has built an incredibly vibrant festival. Here’s just a taste of the success we’ve built together: almost 37,000 tickets sold in 2016, and we’re expecting to grow again in 2017, making us the largest film festival in Alberta and the sixth-largest in Canada. We’re uniquely positioned and known as a leading champion of Alberta and Canadian film. We’re proud that we’ve been named by Movie Maker Magazine as one of “50 Film Festivals Worth the Entry Fee” for the second year in a row, and that we’re also an Oscar-qualifying festival for short films! None of this would be possible without our volunteers.
